Passion's Invocation

Uneasy Over

He had been a fair weather friend at best, and his weather had been much fairer than hers. He didn’t want to be with her no matter how she had hoped and hurt.

He had been her choice regardless of his shortcomings. That was how she loved, inherently, instinctively, overlooking human weaknesses. Nothing mattered next to the one she held in her heart.

She had been available and alone too long. He’d only noticed when it was convenient for him. Now that he had no other options, he had decided to be her company.

Maybe she didn’t have much, and maybe she never would, but she had gotten out with what little was left of her pride and self-esteem still intact.

He hadn’t given a damn if she’d needed him. She had suffered the worst alone. She had given her all to be there for him. She knew that the time was now and that a moment later would be too late.

She tied on her running shoes with double knotted bows. Where she ran screaming to, nobody knows.

She had no one and nothing to run to, but she arrived there alone again. She felt empty, battered, sad and used, but knew it was the right thing to do. She had to save herself now.

That was all she needed to be, along with being temporarily free. It was hard and it hurt like hell, but it was action based on facts. To her It was typical, another uneasy over and another hard beginning.
